Metrospace Construction Company is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong engineering background to oversee construction projects from site preparation to completion. The successful candidate will coordinate the entire project lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery, cost-effectiveness, safety compliance, and quality standards.

Job Summary

The Accountant oversees inventory management, ensuring accurate tracking, timely ordering, and efficient reconciliation. This role conducts cycle counts, monitors stock levels, manages vendor relationships, reconciles inventory, and calculates inventory values. This role also analyzes inventory data, reduces inventory costs, and ensures compliance with the companys standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and process purchase bills and invoices promptly to ensure timely supplier payments and order fulfilment.
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions in accounting software (sage) to ensure up-to-date financial data.
  • Prepare Weekly/ monthly financial report and statement
  • Monitor and update inventory and material usage across project sites, ensuring proper reconciliation of materials issued and received.
  • Track re-order levels for construction materials and promptly notify the procurement team to avoid stock shortages or project delays.
  • Review and reconcile project site expenses, petty cash, and material costs to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare payment instructions for approved vendor invoices and liaise with the bank to ensure timely execution of payments.
  • Conduct periodic reconciliations between supplier statements, purchase records, and payment schedules to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Verify and post daily financial transactions, including receipts, payments, and journal entries, into the companys accounting system.
  • Generate regular financial and inventory reports for management, highlighting pending bills, material balances, and cost variances
  • Assist in developing and maintaining internal control procedures for expense monitoring, cash handling, and inventory management.
  • Support the Finance Manager in preparing monthly management reports, project cost summaries, and other financial documentation.
  • Perform any other accounting or administrative duties as assigned by the Finance Manager or Managing Director.

Academic Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting & Inventory Management.
  • Experience in the construction industry is an added avantage
  • Understanding of inventory control processes and procedures.
  • Proficiency in sage , Excel, and other accounting software.
  • Strong data analysis skills for inventory tracking and reporting.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers, banks, and internal teams.
