Job Title: Social Media Manager & Content Creator

Reports to: Managing Director

Location: Abuja

A Nigerian Owned Multinational international consulting and project-development firm operating across petroleum & lubricant trading, mining (including lithium), real-estate development, trade & investment facilitation and other sectors. Role Summary

The Social Media Manager / Content Creator will lead the company's digital and social media presence — creating, curating, and distributing engaging content across relevant platforms, aligning content with business objectives, and driving brand awareness and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the company's business goals (petroleum trading, mining, real estate, consulting services, etc.).
  • Maintain and manage the company's presence on relevant social media platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram — and any other platforms relevant to target stakeholders).
  • Plan, manage and maintain an editorial/content calendar — including posts for company news, project updates, industry insights, thought leadership, investment opportunities, corporate announcements, etc.
  • Create and/or supervise production of high-quality content: written (posts, captions, articles), visual (images, infographics), and if needed, video — to reflect the company's brand, values, and market positioning.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all content: tone of voice, visual identity, messaging.
  • Monitor, moderate and respond to social media interactions — comments, messages, mentions — in a timely, professional manner; foster engagement and community building.
  • Track and analyze key social media metrics (engagement rates, follower growth, reach, conversions, leads) and produce periodic performance reports; use insights to optimize content and strategy.
  • Stay up-to-date with social media trends, platform changes, best practices, and industry developments — especially in sectors relevant to the company (oil & gas, mining, real estate, consulting) — and incorporate them into content strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (business development, operations, project leads) to identify content opportunities: project milestones, deals, partnerships, industry thought leadership, company achievements.
  • Where relevant, support marketing, PR, investor relations, and client-outreach efforts via digital channels (social media, newsletters, digital campaigns).

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Media, Business Administration or related field.
  • Proven experience (2–5 years, or more) as Social Media Manager, Content Creator, or similar role — ideally for a business-to-business (B2B) company, or in sectors such as energy, mining, real estate, corporate services.
  • Strong writing and communication skills — ability to craft clear, engaging, and persuasive content tailored to audiences (investors, clients, partners, stakeholders).
  • Good understanding of social media platforms and how to leverage them for corporate branding, stakeholder engagement, and lead generation
  • Excellent skills in graphic design / visual content creation (e.g. using design tools — Canva, Adobe Suite — for images/infographics; optionally, video editing or coordination if producing video content).
  • Analytical mindset — comfortable working with social media metrics, engagement data, and using insights to refine strategy.
  • Strong organization and project-management skills: able to manage a content calendar, meet deadlines, coordinate with multiple internal stakeholders.
  • Creativity and adaptability — ability to conceptualize content relevant to diverse business lines (oil & gas trading, mining, real estate, consulting).
  • Proactive, self-starter attitude; ability to work independently or collaborate closely with company leadership as needed.

Ideal Candidate Will Bring

  • A good mix of corporate communication orientation and creative storytelling — able to explain complex business activities (e.g. mining, petroleum trading, real estate deals) in a digestible, engaging way for target audiences (investors, clients, partners).
  • Understanding of — or willingness to learn — the sectors the company operates in (petroleum & lubricants, mining, real estate, trading, consulting).
  • Portfolio or examples of past social media/digital content work, preferably in B2B or corporate context.
  • Sensitivity to brand identity, corporate reputation, and professionalism — given that the company handles high-value trading, consultancy, and investment facilitation.
