Job Summary

As our Social Media Manager, you will be the primary voice and strategist behind LJE Nigeria's presence on social platforms. You will develop and execute campaigns that amplify our mission, engage diverse audiences, and strengthen our influence across Nigeria. You'll work onsite in Abuja, collaborating with advocacy, communications, and program teams to bring our vision to life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage social media strategies across platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok)
  • Create, schedule, and publish high‑quality content (copy, visuals, video, reels, stories) that aligns with our mission
  • Monitor and manage engagement — respond to comments, messages, and community interactions
  • Collaborate closely with program, advocacy, research, and design teams to support campaigns, events, and initiatives
  • Track social metrics (reach, engagement, conversions) and produce monthly performance reports
  • Use data insights to optimize content strategy, A/B test formats, and adjust tactics
  • Manage paid social media campaigns, including budgeting and ROI measurement
  • Build and maintain relationships with influencers, partner organizations, and advocacy networks
  • Stay up to date with social media trends, platform changes, and best practices

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Media Studies, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in social media or communications roles
  • Deep understanding of social media platforms and content formats
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Proficiency with social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Meta Insights, Google Analytics, Sprout Social, Hootsuite, etc.)
  • Basic design skills (e.g. Canva) or ability to work with designers
  • Experience running paid social campaigns with budget oversight
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work onsite in Abuja (Monday–Friday)
  • Passion for social justice, advocacy, and community development
