Job Summary

The Managing Partner, Business Development & Client Engagement will serve as a senior executive leader responsible for driving the company's Consulting growth strategy through strategic client relationship management, business development, marketing, and deal origination. The role requires a high-performing business leader with deep industry relationships, commercial acumen, and the ability to translate opportunities into sustainable revenue growth.

Job Responsibilities

1.
Strategic Business Development


• Develop and execute the business growth strategy in alignment with the company's vision and market priorities.


• Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities with corporate clients, development partners, regulators, and financial institutions.


• Lead the development of strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and collaborations to expand market reach in Africa.


• Oversee preparation of winning proposals, presentations, and bids.

2. Client Relationship Management


• Build, nurture, and manage strong relationships with key clients, prospects, and industry stakeholders.


• Establish and oversee a client relationship management framework to ensure client satisfaction, retention, and growth.


• Monitor client feedback and market trends to inform service improvement and innovation.

  1. Marketing, Brand & Sales Leadership


• Provide leadership for the company's marketing and brand positioning initiatives.


• Develop and implement sales strategies, campaigns, and go-to-market plans for the company's portfolio of services—conferences, advisory, digital transformation, and training.


• Supervise marketing materials, digital campaigns, and thought leadership content.


• Represent the company at high-level industry events, forums, and client meetings.

  1. Deal Origination and Closure


• Proactively identify opportunities for advisory projects, event partnerships, and consulting engagements.


• Lead deal structuring, negotiations, and contract closure.


• Drive revenue performance and meet quarterly and annual financial targets.

  1. Leadership and Collaboration


• Work closely with the Managing Director and other Directors to shape business direction.


• Mentor and develop a high-performing business development and marketing team.


• Contribute to strategy reviews, planning sessions, and corporate governance meetings.

Qualifications and Experience


• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in business development, client engagement, consulting, or strategic sales—preferably within management consulting, financial services, fintech, or ICT sectors.


• Proven track record of originating and closing high-value deals and partnerships.


• Strong executive presence and network across digital economy and SME value chain


• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.


• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and act operationally.


• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or related field; MBA or equivalent is an advantage.
