The Loan Sales Officer is responsible for sourcing, onboarding, and managing borrowers to achieve monthly loan disbursement targets. The role focuses on engaging SMEs, business owners, corporate clients, and other eligible borrowers to drive credit uptake. The ideal candidate is highly sales-driven, target-oriented, and experienced in lending, credit origination, and client relationship management within the financial services or fintech space.
Key Responsibilities
Loan Acquisition & Origination
- Identify, prospect, and acquire quality borrowers for Sycamore's loan products.
- Achieve a
monthly loan disbursement target of ₦300M–500M
, contributing directly to the company's revenue and portfolio growth. - Develop and execute strategies to increase loan sales across SMEs, corporates, and emerging business segments.
Client Engagement & Needs Assessment
- Conduct thorough assessments of client financing needs and recommend suitable loan products.
- Guide prospects through the loan application process, ensuring clarity, speed, and a seamless experience.
- Maintain a strong understanding of Sycamore's loan offerings, pricing, credit requirements, and eligibility criteria.
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients to ensure repeat business and referrals.
- Follow up consistently with leads to drive conversion and optimize the sales pipeline.
- Provide post-disbursement support, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Documentation & Compliance
- Assist clients in gathering and completing all necessary loan documentation.
- Work closely with the credit and risk teams to ensure swift evaluation and disbursement of qualified loans.
- Ensure strict adherence to internal credit policies, regulatory standards, and KYC/AML requirements.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer behavior to identify new business opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, applications, disbursements, and sales activities using CRM tools.
- Prepare periodic reports on loan sales performance, pipeline status, and areas requiring management attention.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- 3-4 years of experience in loan sales, credit origination, commercial banking, or financial services.
- Proven ability to meet and exceed high monthly sales/disbursement targets.
- Strong understanding of lending processes, credit assessment, collateral evaluation, and loan documentation.
- Excellent sales, negotiation, and networking skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage business owners and corporate clients confidently.
- Self-driven, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to build and maintain a strong network of potential borrowers.
