Director of Finance

Our client, a dynamic medical consulting group dedicated to providing high-quality medical and rehabilitation services in Lagos, requires the services of a Finance Director.
Job Summary:
The Finance Director will oversee all financial aspects, ensuring robust financial management, compliance, and strategic planning to support the organization's growth. Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Director will manage accounting, reporting, budgeting, and valuation activities, while fostering a culture of financial discipline and transparency. The ideal candidate will hold an ICAN or ACA certification and bring expertise in financial leadership within a healthcare or related sector.
Key Responsibilities
• Financial Strategy & Leadership: Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's mission and growth objectives. Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and leadership team to optimize financial performance.
• Accounting & Financial Management: Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash flow management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Nigerian accounting standards and regulations.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and present timely, accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. Ensure compliance with IFRS and local regulatory requirements.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor performance against budgets and provide variance analysis to support decision-making.
• Valuation Activities: Assist in business valuation processes, including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and due diligence to support fundraising, partnerships, or expansion initiatives.
• Internal Controls & Compliance: Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets. Ensure compliance with tax regulations, audits, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, and collaboration.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with external auditors, banks, investors, and regulatory bodies to ensure transparency and trust in financial operations.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring long-term sustainability.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
ICAN or ACA certification is preferred .
Minimum of 4 years of progressive financial management experience, preferably in healthcare, medical services, or a related industry.
Proven expertise in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Experience with business valuation, financial modeling, and due diligence processes.
Strong understanding of Nigerian financial regulations, tax laws, and IFRS standards.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or similar).
