Business Development Manager

Job Summary

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for meeting and exceeding sales quotas, developing and maintaining a robust pipeline, and ensuring effective management of relationships with key merchants and enterprise businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and/or exceed sales quotas by engaging with prospects and setting up high-quality meetings that lead to quality pipeline and revenue.
  • Utilize lead generation tools to source leads via outbound prospecting.
  • Make contact with potential new customers across various channels, including phone, email, social, and chat.
  • Initiate the salesforce cycle from lead generation to transacting customers.
  • Develop and maintain a robust and enterprise-focused pipeline in CRM Freshsales.
  • Ensure effective management of relationships with key merchants and enterprise businesses.
  • Review sales performance against set budgets on a periodic basis and recommend action plans for improvement.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales reports for management's review.
  • Maintain expert knowledge in the use cases and benefits of Flutterwave's offerings and how they impact each user in an organization.
  • Support in creation of sales messaging, follow-up, and presentations to customer and prospect accounts.
  • Develop creative ways and ideas for reaching and engaging with prospect personas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Sales/Business Development related field.
  • 15+ years of business development experience, specializing in one or more sectors.
  • Proven experience in sales across banking, fintech, and financial services.
  • Deep understanding of sales systems to support successful sales delivery.
  • Curiosity, a can-do attitude, and willingness to continually learn.
  • Efficient multi-tasker and ability to work and deliver under pressure.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools, including Freshsales.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent people and relationship management skills, including leading a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment and adapt to new and challenging projects.
  • Ability to influence others and create a sense of urgency for your cause.
