Head of Sales

Our client company is seeking a Head of Sales who will be responsible for leading the sales team and driving the company’s sales strategy within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector. This role focuses on increasing revenue, market share, and profitability by identifying growth opportunities, building strong customer relationships, and optimizing the sales process. The Head of Sales will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between sales, marketing, and operations to achieve the company’s business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement a robust sales strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business goals, focusing on driving revenue growth and market share in the FMCG sector.
2. Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and team targets.
3. Ensure continuous development and training to maintain a high-performance sales culture.
4. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and retail partners to enhance the company’s presence in the market and ensure customer satisfaction.
5. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
6. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
7. Set ambitious sales targets and ensure the team meets or exceeds them through effective planning, forecasting, and performance management.
8. Work closely with the marketing and operations teams to ensure product availability, promotional activities, and brand strategies are effectively aligned with sales efforts.
9. Oversee sales budgets, control costs, and ensure that sales operations are financially efficient.
10. Report regularly on sales performance, revenue, and profitability.
11. Identify and pursue new business opportunities and sales channels, expanding the company’s customer base and product distribution in the FMCG market.
12. Continuously review and improve sales processes, including sales forecasting, pipeline management, and customer engagement, to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
1. Minimum of 7 years of sales experience, with at least 3 years in a senior sales leadership role.
2. Experience within the FMCG space.
3. In-depth understanding of the FMCG market, including consumer behavior, distribution channels, and key industry trends
4. Proven track record of driving sales growth and managing large sales teams.
5. Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
6. Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a sales team to meet and exceed targets.
7. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data, market research, and financial reports.
8. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
9. Proficiency in CRM tools and sales software.
10. A degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
