We are seeking a
Technical Sales Officer
for Compressor and turbines - sale of equipment, spare parts, repairs, refurbishment and after sales follow-up and services.
The Technical Sales Officer is responsible for driving revenue growth, and expanding the company's market presence within the Nigerian Oil and Gas sector. The Technical Sales Officer will report to the Business Development Manager. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership, technical sales expertise, and an extensive network within the sector. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional relationship-building skills, a deep understanding of market dynamics, and a proven track record in sourcing and executing deals.
First degree in any field is acceptable but minimum 5 years SALES experience in the Nigerian oil and gas sector is a mandatory requirement.
Core Responsibilities
o Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to
achieve the company's commercial goals and market expansion objectives.
o Ensure to meets and exceeds revenue targets.
o Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including sourcing potential
leads, responding to applicable Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and engaging
in tenders.
o Cultivate and leverage an extensive network of industry contacts to enhance
market visibility and establish valuable client relationships.
o Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential clients, assess industry trends, and monitor competitor activities, developing effective sales approaches.
o Develop a pricing framework for services and solutions, ensuring competitive and profitable positioning in the market.
o Foster and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients to nurture long-term partnerships and maximize sales opportunities.
o Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions that align with their business goals.
o Lead negotiations and close complex sales deals, ensuring alignment with company objectives and financial targets.
o Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, adjusting strategies as needed to optimize results.
o Regularly prepare and present reports to executive management and the board of directors, outlining progress, challenges, and opportunities within the Oil and Gas market.
o Generate accurate and valuable trend analysis reports to support data- driven decision-making.
o Develop, implement, and manage branding, marketing, and advertising
strategies to enhance the company's presence in the industry.
o Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and marketing innovations to identify new opportunities for differentiation and business growth.
o Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets for the
Business Development division, ensuring effective resource allocation.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements
Excellent negotiation skills
Strong networking abilities and existing relationships within the Oil and Gas community
Excellent leadership, supervisory and people management skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with firm understanding of web analytics, and marketing analytics
Creativity and commercial awareness
Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills
Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to meet client needs
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
Proven record of success in sales roles within the Nigerian Oil and Gas sector
Sales experience in an internationally recognized oil and gas services firm. i.e. SLB, Halliburton, Baker Hughes
