We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
Finance Associate
to join our Finance and Operations department. This Senior Associate-grade role is crucial for managing the day-to-day financial procedures of the company. You will be responsible for maintaining account records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring all financial data is ready for audits, reviews, and taxation. You will also provide professional support to both internal teams and external stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Financial Reporting & Control:
    Prepare financial and operating statements for managerial review, proofread accounts for accuracy, and perform first-level audits on transactions and accounts.

  • Taxation and Regulatory Compliance:
    Work with tax consultants to prepare corporation tax and income tax computations, including other statutory deductions. Prepare monthly renditions and disclosures to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

  • General Ledger & Closing:
    Prepare financial statements and management reports by reconciling general ledger accounts, completing analyses, and performing monthly general ledger closing procedures, including consolidation.

  • Treasury & Banking:
    Process transactions with banks, prepare documentation for bank credit requests (e.g., letters of credit/guarantee), and follow up on credit activation and balance review. Lodge cheques for repayments and prepare necessary reconciliations.

  • Budgeting & Administration:
    Collaborate with managers to develop the annual budget, determine funding allocations, forecast financial requirements , and manage vendor settlements and petty cash.

  • Stakeholder Liaison:
    Liaise with Banks, Tax Authorities, Regulators, and External Auditors as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience:
    At least
    5+ years
    of relevant experience with extensive practical knowledge of the
    financial services industry
    is required.

  • Education:
    Must be a
    qualified and chartered accountant
    with a relevant graduate qualification and/or equivalent business experience. A Master's degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance is an added advantage.

  • Knowledge:
    Good understanding of basic bookkeeping up to trial balance. Knowledge of statutory finance regulations and key strategic finance reporting.

  • Skills:
    Advanced level competence in
    Excel
