POSITION: DEWATERING CONSTRUCTION SITE WORKER

REPORTING TO: SITE FOREMAN / SUPERVISOR

JOB SUMMARY:

Dewatering Construction ETC Ltd. (DCEL) is a specialized construction dewatering company focused on Wellpoint dewatering solutions

We are hiring to support all on-site dewatering operations, including the safe operation and basic maintenance of pumps and equipment, frequent loading and unloading of heavy materials, assisting in the drilling of mini water wells, and performing a wide range of labor-intensive tasks as directed by company supervisory staff to ensure efficient and effective project completion.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

As a leading provider of dewatering services in the construction industry, we seek dedicated, physically fit, reliable, and hardworking field staff. You will be integral to our site operations, ensuring projects proceed safely, on time, and to standard.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Comply with all company safety policies, processes, and procedures at all times.
  2. Operate, monitor, and perform basic care and maintenance on company dewatering pumps and machinery.
  3. Assist the Site Foreman in the installation, setup, and jetting of dewatering systems.
  4. Prepare sites by cleaning obstacles, debris, and hazards.
  5. Load and unload dewatering materials, equipment, and tools from vehicles.
  6. Assemble and disassemble dewatering equipment's on site including accessories for dewatering.
  7. Perform excavation tasks as required.
  8. Participate actively in all job training.
  9. Perform clean-up of dewatering pumps, accessories, and the general work area.
  10. Report any accidents, incidents, or near misses immediately to the supervisor.
  11. Observe all company rules and regulations, representing the company in a positive and professional manner.
  12. Communicate effectively with other team members and report any issues or concerns promptly to the supervisor.
  13. Assist the Logistics/Warehouse teams in maintaining the warehouse when needed.
  14. Assist with various day-to-day site duties as needed.
  15. Perform any additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be at least 24 years of age.
  • Possess a minimum of a Senior School Certificate with proven ability to read and write.
  • Proven ability to perform strenuous physical tasks repeatedly.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must be time-conscious, trustworthy, and reliable.
  • Prior experience in the construction industry is an added advantage.
  • Must have a working mobile phone for communication.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

The ideal candidate is a proactive, safety-conscious team player with a strong work ethic. You are physically robust and take pride in performing demanding tasks with diligence and care. You are a reliable communicator who follows instructions precisely but can also use initiative to solve practical problems on site. A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a commitment to contributing to a productive and safe worksite are essential. Prior direct experience with pumps, dewatering, or civil excavation is a significant advantage.

REMUNERATION:

The remuneration is attractive and incudes HMO.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

  • This is a physically demanding role that requires a strong work ethic, attention to safety, and a willingness to work as part of a team. Successful candidates will be subject to a site safety induction and other training before work and might have to come with their medical reports to ensure fitness. They will be expected to comply with all company rules especially adhering to all safety requirements.
