Vacancy: Security Manager for Projects (Chinese)

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Department: Security & Administration

Reports to: Country Security & Administration Director

Role Purpose

The Security Manager will be responsible for strengthening the safety and security framework across project sites in Nigeria. He/she will be responsible for improving overall site security performance, developing and implementing robust security plans to ensure the protection of Chinese expatriate staff, and reviewing, updating, and enforcing security policies and procedures in line with global best practices.

Role Responsibilities

Security Responsibilities:

  • Support the Country Security and Administration Director to develop and implement

security policies and plans, ensuring the personal safety of new projects.

  • Oversee daily conduct of Chinese expatriates to ensure adherence to security systems,

procedures, and facilities.

  • Support the Country Security & Administration Director to enhance LAP security

systems, procedures, and facilities.

  • Site security audit to avoid incidents.

Knowledge and Experience Requirements

Critical Knowledge

  • Project management experience and/or qualifications
  • Extensive work and/or management experience in security related field
  • Security or military background

Critical Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in security related leadership roles;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office / Google based applications
  • PowerPoint briefings
  • Map reading, terrain assessments and transcribing location data into maps, planning tools or briefings.

5. Competencies and Behaviors

  • Execute security duties responsibly. Familiarity with all aspects, sections, patrol lines, and security objectives within the Project. Organize team members to conduct frequent inspections, identify potential security hazards, and report them promptly.

Handle general issues appropriately and maintain complete records.

  • Assess the discipline and attendance of security team members. Organize and direct the team in completing all assigned security tasks. Maintain accurate and truthful work logs and ensure proper handover procedures between shifts.
  • Strictly enforce the company's rules and regulations. Organize all security personnel for professional knowledge study and security skill training, ensuring the entire team maintains a rigorous style, follows orders, remains dedicated to their duties, treats others with sincerity and courtesy, and upholds the company's positive image.

  • Ensure that all the fiscal and legal requirements of Huaxin and LAP are met and that all

corporate policies are well understood and implemented

  • Compliance with the instructions and requirements for personal safety, fire safety and

industrial hygiene based on Huaxin and LAP standards on health & safety
