Job Overview

A reputable restaurant in Durumi is seeking a skilled and passionate Cook with experience preparing authentic Nigerian and continental dishes. The ideal candidate should be creative, reliable, and capable of delivering consistently delicious meals while maintaining the highest standards of kitchen hygiene and food presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of Nigerian dishes including Abacha, Nkwobi, Jollof Rice, Egusi, Ofada, Goat Meat Pepper Soup, Fried Rice, and other local delicacies.
  • Develop daily menu plans and ensure timely preparation of meals.
  • Maintain proper portion control and ensure food consistency and quality.
  • Ensure all meals are cooked and presented to professional standards.
  • Manage food stock and communicate supply needs to management.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment in compliance with hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Supervise kitchen assistants or support staff when necessary.
  • Adapt recipes to meet customer preferences or special requests.
  • Contribute to new menu ideas and seasonal specials.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a cook in a reputable restaurant or hotel.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian cuisine (especially Abacha, Nkwobi, soups, and rice dishes).
  • Basic knowledge of continental or grill-style cooking is an advantage.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and during busy service hours.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must live within or be willing to relocate to Durumi, Abuja.
