Job Summary

The Agric Farm Manager role at Ascentech Services Limited is responsible for overseeing the entire farm operations, ensuring maximum efficiency, and profitability. This position requires a highly skilled and experienced individual with a passion for agriculture, excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills, as well as superb communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operations Analysis and Improvement: Analyze existing operations, crops, livestock, staff, and financial documents to identify areas for improvement and recommend optimal solutions.
  • Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor farm activities, ensure timely restocking of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other supplies, and schedule repairs and maintenance of equipment and machinery.
  • Planning and Scheduling: Prepare plans and schedules for planting and harvesting, ensure staff understands expectations, and coordinate with the sales team to plan production.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Inspect crops, livestock, and perform tests on soil and water to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Marketing and Sales: Handle the marketing and sale of farm products, such as fruits, vegetables, dairy, meat, and grain, and collaborate with the sales team to predict production.
  • Staff Management: Ensure all staff adheres to health and safety regulations, assist with the recruitment and training of new staff members, and collaborate with senior staff to prepare budgets and financial reports.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in agriculture, animal science, or equivalent, with additional courses in business management or administration recommended.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in a farming-related field, with management experience a plus.
  • Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills, superb communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to make decisions in stressful environments.

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Seed Selection: Familiarity with seed selection and crop management.
  • Knowledge of Nursery Management: Understanding of nursery management and crop scheduling.
  • Hydroponics and Soilless Agriculture: Willingness to learn hydroponics and soilless agriculture techniques.
  • Integrated Pest Management: Knowledge and experience of integrated pest management.
  • Software Skills: Familiarity with basic software tools, such as MS Excel, for data collection and reporting.
