Job Title: Head of IT & Operations
Department: Operations
Reports To: Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer
Supervises: IT Support, Operations, and Loan Processing Teams
Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Job Summary
The Head of IT & Operations is responsible for leading the company's technology-driven operations, ensuring seamless integration between financial processes, digital systems, and infrastructure management. This role provides strategic leadership across IT systems, loan administration, and fund operations, driving automation, data integrity, and operational efficiency. The position is critical in aligning technology with business goals to support scalability, compliance, and exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. IT Strategy & Systems Management
· Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of IT systems that power all lending and operational activities.
· Oversee the performance, security, and reliability of core systems including the loan management platform, and internal databases.
· Develop and execute IT strategy that aligns with corporate goals, ensuring scalability, uptime, and data-driven decision-making.
· Supervise IT governance, data protection, and cybersecurity frameworks in compliance with regulatory standards.
· Manage relationships with software vendors, developers, and service providers to ensure technology solutions meet business needs.
· Oversee system upgrades, integrations, and automation projects to enhance productivity and minimize manual intervention.
· Champion digital transformation across departments, ensuring all functions leverage technology for efficiency and transparency.
2. Operations & Loan Management
· Direct end-to-end loan operations, origination, booking, disbursement, monitoring, repayment, and recovery; ensuring adherence to company credit policies.
· Enhance automation within the loan management process for faster turnaround and accuracy.
· Supervise internal fund placements and liquidity management, ensuring optimal utilization of idle funds pending disbursements.
· Maintain robust reconciliation processes for all operational transactions, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
· Develop, update, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all operational areas.
3. Data, Risk & Compliance Oversight
· Implement data governance and access control systems to safeguard company and customer information.
· Monitor system security logs, IT audit findings, and compliance reports to identify and mitigate risks proactively.
· Collaborate with Risk and Compliance teams to ensure operational and system processes meet regulatory and internal control standards.
· Drive continuous quality assurance and ensure accurate, auditable data across systems.
4. Strategy, Innovation & Performance Management
· Provide strategic insights on leveraging technology to optimize lending operations and improve service delivery.
· Identify emerging technologies that can enhance lending, reporting, and operational performance.
· Establish and monitor KPIs for IT performance, system uptime, and process automation impact.
· Contribute to strategic planning and business growth through innovation, data analytics, and system-driven efficiency.
· Lead initiatives that reduce operational costs through intelligent automation and process re-engineering.
5. Leadership & Collaboration
· Lead, mentor, and build capacity within the IT and Operations teams to create a high-performing, cross-functional unit.
· Foster collaboration between technology, finance, and operations teams for seamless business execution.
· Promote a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
· Conduct regular performance reviews and identify skill gaps to support professional development.
Key Requirements
Degree alongside relevant certifications
3 - 5 years' experience in IT-driven financial operations, systems management, or digital transformation within the financial services sector.
Proven track record of managing technology platforms that support lending or financial operations.
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, data governance, and financial systems integration.
Prior experience in operations or credit administration is an added advantage.
