  • This role involves collaboration with engineers and project managers to support the development and maintenance of transmission systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field surveys to assess the physical condition and alignment of transmission lines, poles, towers, and associated infrastructure.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret geographical and topographical data using specialized surveying equipment and software.
  • Develop and maintain accurate maps, sketches, and reports documenting survey results and findings.
  • Provide technical support for the design and planning of transmission line projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to identify optimal routing and address any potential conflicts or issues.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards, throughout the surveying process.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and external partners to facilitate project goals and timelines.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals and budgets related to surveying activities.
  • Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Participate in safety training and uphold all safety protocols on job sites.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a surveyor, specifically in utility transmission line surveying preferred.
  • Proficiency in using surveying equipment, such as total stations, GPS, and GIS software.
  • Strong knowledge of surveying techniques, land development principles, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical labor as necessary.
  • Relevant certifications e.g., Professional Surveyor license are a plus.
