Job Description (Summary)
As the Area Sales Manager, you will oversee sales performance, manage distributor relationships, and lead a team to deliver on volume and distribution targets. The role also involves implementing merchandising strategies, providing market intelligence, and driving operational excellence across assigned territories.
Operational Leadership:
Develop and implement sales and distribution strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Ensure effective execution of sales, distribution, and merchandising plans through territory management and field force deployment.
Work closely with distributors to optimize route-to-market plans and ensure effective pricing strategies.
Performance Management:
Monitor and report on sales performance using key metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Conduct regular field visits to ensure adherence to high operational standards and address performance gaps.
Develop and implement corrective action plans to meet or exceed sales targets.
People Management and Development:
Lead, coach, and motivate a team of sales personnel across multiple locations to deliver exceptional results.
Create an environment that fosters collaboration, talent development, and recognition of achievements.
Identify training needs and opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
Customer and Market Management:
Build strong relationships with wholesalers, retailers, and HORECA owners to ensure product availability and market penetration.
Gather and analyze market intelligence on competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.
Implement trade and consumer activation programs to drive customer engagement and satisfaction.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and deliver accurate and timely reports on sales performance, market conditions, and competitor activities.
Provide insights and recommendations to management based on data analysis.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in sales and distribution management or channel operations.
Proven expertise in trade marketing, distributor management, and customer service.
Strong proficiency in English (written and verbal).
