Job Title: Commercial Manager
Reports To: Country Manager
Location: Lagos

My Client, a leading multinational distributor of chemicals across emerging markets, is seeking a dynamic & experienced commercial manager to join their team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing their chemical market and growing a portfolio of profitable customers & transactions through the creation of strong relationships with trustworthy customers.
The ideal candidate will also take the responsibility to set up and pursue the (trading) market development strategy for Nigeria.

Responsibilities
Develop & implement strategic plans to drive sales growth, and expand the company's commercial activities in the industry with a focus on forex implications.
​Provide commercial input into business reviews and potential opportunities.
Conduct market & sales analysis to identify potential clients, market trends, and competitor activities.
Provide accurate report on commercial performance, including sales forecasts, market analysis, and revenue projections.
Stay updated on industry regulations, trade policies, and compliance requirements related to forex transactions.
Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, preparing reports for management review.
Help in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in target markets.
Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A masters degree is a plus.
Have vast knowledge of business development strategies.
7+ years’ experience in business development, sales, or commercial management.
Ability to develop and execute successful commercial/sales strategies, driving revenue growth and market expansion.
Understanding the complexity of a commercial role in Nigeria (such as forex).
Able to build relationships and dealing with various types of people & cultures.
Commercial prospecting and strong negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
Proficiency in MS Office suite and commercial /sales software applications
